Bordetella Vaccine

Canine Bordetella, also and commonly known as "Kennel Cough".This is an airborne virus that attacks the respiratory tract and is passed on from dog to dog.For more in depth information please visit http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_kennel_cough.html.Bordetella is given once yearly, except for the first time when given in two doses 3-4 weeks apart. After the second dose protection does not occur until 1-2 weeks after.Even though, intranasal vaccine is said to be a better protection it can cause serious complications in small Chihuahuas. So please, we really recommend the injectable Bordetella vaccine after the second set of shots(5-in-1) for the first dose and after the last set of (5-in-1)the last last dose.If you plan to take your Chihuahua to the groomers or training classes,or even boarding you are required to vaccinate against Bordetella every 6 months. Please, stay away from the nasal Bordetella vaccine to keep your Chihuahua safe from any harmful reactions. Thank you
